Resident Services / Property Management Associate

Regular, part-time (20 hours per week), Mon - Fri, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Mutual Housing Association of Hawai`i is a well-established local non-profit in affordable housing with a resident- and employee-friendly grassroots work environment.  Properties on Kaua`i and O`ahu.  Available position located at Kekaulike Courtyards, a 76-unit residential complex situated in Chinatown.

General Description

A Resident Services/Property Management Associate position is available. Compensation includes 100% paid employee medical premium, retirement benefits with generous employer match, Aflac with employer contribution, vacation/sick leave, parking in the building and other benefits.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a desire to be of service and who would enjoy stable afternoon work with a great team and community.  We are interested in meeting enthusiastic and hard working individuals, team players, those who possess good judgment, show discretion, and have the have ability to engage a diversity of people. The associate will provide support in program development and coordination, communication with residents, and community building. The position will include conducting of educational or recreational programs mainly for adults as well as event planning.  There will be occasional early evening meetings and possible weekend activities. Other administrative duties will include assistance with vendors and contractors, help with maintenance inventory, and support in processing of resident documents. 

Desirable Qualifications and Characteristics

-     Minimum two years administrative experience with a significant amount of the job working closely with and speaking before individuals or groups.

-     Experience in community outreach and development or in social services or related field and in project coordination and event planning a plus.

-     Capability of working with groups of diverse people to facilitate collaboration, problem-solving and decision-making.

-     English speaking and writing ability to successfully perform the job, and excellent listening skills.

-     Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple responsibilities and to complete tasks in an effective and timely manner.

-     Capability of working on and reporting detailed information with accuracy.

-     Ability to effectively use MS Office and grasp use of other applications for inputting data.
